
The Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL), member of the Eurosystem, is currently seeking to recruit a(n):
PORTFOLIO MANAGER (m/f/d) - career A1
Your mission:
Within the Front Office – Reserve Management Section, you are in charge of managing BCL’s own portfolios or mandates on behalf of third parties. You participate in the investment process at all levels and act as contact person vis-à-vis BCL clients for the reserve management services.
Your responsibilities:
- You efficiently and independently manage BCL own portfolios as well as portfolios on behalf of third parties in accordance with investment rules;
- You monitor and analyze the financial markets and evaluate the risks and opportunities for existing and future investments;
- You monitor the portfolios risk and performance;
- You actively contribute at all levels to the investment process, within the section as well as in committees;
- You act as a contact person for market counterparts and issuers;
- You provide reserves management services for foreign central banks and multinational institutions;
- You prepare reporting for BCL customers as well as investment committees;
- You represent the BCL in working groups.
Your profile:
- You hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in finance, economics, financial mathematics or related relevant field. The CFA will be considered as an asset;
- You have 5 to 10 years of experience in the financial sector;
- Previous experience in portfolio management or treasury function would be an advantage;
- You have solid knowledge of financial markets and instruments;
- You have a good understanding of financial risks;
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients and counterparties;
- You are fluent in English; knowledge of French, German and Luxembourgish is an advantage;
- You have excellent command of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel; an experience in mathematical software and/or programming (e.g. R or Python), as well as knowledge of the Bloomberg and WallStreet systems would be an advantage;
- You are rigorous and autonomous in your work and act proactively;
- You have strong business ethics and your values are aligned with the purpose of the public sector;
- You are a team player, reliable and demonstrate good resistance to stress.
