The Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL), member of the Eurosystem, is currently seeking to recruit a(n):

ECONOMIST (m/f/d) - career A1

Your mission:

You will contribute to the analysis of monetary policy issues with a focus on the banking sector. In addition to policy-related tasks, you will have the opportunity to conduct research related to monetary policy.

Your responsibilities:
  • Monitoring financial markets and macroeconomic developments in the euro area and Luxembourg to contribute to briefings on recent developments;
  • Analysis of banking data and financial/capital markets for monetary policy purposes;
  • Preparation of briefing notes, reports and publications on monetary policy;
  • Participation in national and international meetings related to monetary policy;
  • Preparation and presentation of policy notes and research for BCL publications and academic journals/conferences.
Your profile:
  • Master degree in economics or finance. A PhD would represent an advantage;
  • Ability to handle large datasets from different sources and analyze them using econometric techniques prospectively with the help of AI;
  • Knowledge of monetary policy and the banking sector;
  • Background in central banking, monetary policy or academic research would be an advantage;
  • Excellent command of English and working knowledge of French. Knowledge of Luxembourgish would represent an advantage;
  • Ability to communicate efficiently to peers, managers and policymakers;
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
  • Readiness to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
